Dear Jennie - on Matilda Mae's first birthday

Dear Jennie

Today, we celebrated Matilda Mae's first birthday, I hope that is ok.

We wrote her name in moon sand.

We blew bubbles up to the sky.

We made purple salt dough stars.

We baked a pink cake and decorated it with MM for Matilda Mae.

And, once the children are sleeping and as the sun sets, I will light a candle for beautiful baby Tilda.

I am so sorry that this is all I can do.

I wish, with every part of me, that I could bring your baby home.

Turn back time.

Bring to your mind the comfort that you have bestowed upon others.

Give to your heart the peace that it deserves.

Return to your arms your darling daughter.

You know that I cannot.

And I am sorry.

Thinking of you, today and always.

X

  6. Thank you for the lovely comments. Any beauty in this post comes straight from Tilda, I'm sure of it. Everything she touches is beautiful by default xxx

  7. Oh, if the collective could wish this tragedy away Tilda would be back in Jennie's arms. Sadly, all we can do is show our support and hold hands virtually.
Your activities for Tilda's day are lovely!
