Walkers Hoops and Crosses

With Jasmine starting school in September, packed lunches are at the forefront of my mind.  So, when Walkers sent us a sample of their new Hoops and Crosses snacks to try, I set about packing a lunch around them.

After some thought, I came up with this:

Cheese sandwich
Pot of fromage frais
Fruit bar
Satsuma
Water
Hoops and Crosses

Granted, it isn't the most inspired lunch box ever made, but for a small girl of four, it hits all the right notes.

So, why should you add Hoops and Crosses to your kids' lunch boxes?

Well, for a start, each bag contains just 85 calories, making them a perfect treat for children.
They are made from wholegrains and have no artificial colours or preservatives.
They come in three flavours (roast beef, prawn cocktail and salt and vinegar), all of which are suitable for vegetarians.

And the verdict on flavour?

Jasmine enjoyed them, allowing me to sample just the one!  She declared them "yummy".  They very much remind me of beef Monster Munch, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.  However, as Jasmine pointed out, they are salty; you can really taste it in them.

Perhaps, rather than daily inclusion in a packed lunch, Hoops and Crosses are best saved for picnics, which is how Jasmine enjoyed hers' today.
